Mike Gavagan, MA, ATC, Head Athletic Trainer



Mike Gavagan began working at Adelphi University in 2001 as a graduate assistant, and today, is the head athletic trainer. He graduated from Hofstra University with a BS degree in athletic training. Mike obtained his Master's degree in health Education in May 2003. He is also an adjunct professor in the Physical Education Department teaching Basic and Advanced Athletic Training courses.

Along with teaching, he works with women's soccer in the fall, men's basketball in the winter and women's lacrosse in the spring.

Renee Crossan, MA, ATC, Assistant Athletic Trainer



Renee Crossan begins her third year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Adelphi University after serving as a graduate assistant for the last two years. She graduated with a MA in Health Education in 2006 and earned a BS in athletic training from the University of Connecticut in May 2003. During the fall season, Renee can be found working with the men's soccer team, during the winter with women's basketball and in the spring with softball.

Tracie Thomson MBA ATC, Assistant Athletic Trainer


Thomson begins her second year with Adelphi and comes to Garden City from Professional Orthopedics in Bayside, New York where she was the Head Athletic Trainer on staff. Prior to that Thomson gained experience in intercollegiate athletics working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Monmouth University. While at Monmouth Thomson worked with the field hockey and track and field teams and graduated with a Masters of Business Administration.

She did her undergraduate work at Hofstra University, earning a degree in athletic training. Thomson, a certified athletic trainer, is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association and will work with the

Anthony Andreach ATC, Assistant Athletic Trainer


After three years as a graduate assistant, Anthony Andreach begins his first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Adelphi University. He graduated from Marist College in August 2006 with a bachelor's of science in athletic training. He completed a master's degree in childhood education at Adelphi. During the year, Anthony can be found working with volleyball and men's basketball as well as baseball in the spring.
