Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Mike Marzano (Whitestone, N.Y.) and senior Courtney Carpenter (Tom's River, NJ) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of December 14, 2004.

Marzano opened his junior indoor track campaign at the Seton Hall Games on December 11th. Marzano eighth in the men's mile in a time of 4:42.81. Marzano then came back and ran the second-leg of the 4x800 meter relay, clocking a split of 2:01 to help the Panthers take second in 8:23.3.

Adelphi takes to the track again on Friday, January 14th when they travel to Kutztown, Pennsylvania to compete in the Kutztown Invitational.

In Adelphi' only game of the week, an 81-72 win over NYIT, Carpenter pulled down eight rebounds, scored 14 points and handed out a game and career-high six assists. Carpenter is currently fourth on the team in points per game (11.8) and second in rebounds per contest (8.7).

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, December 14th when they travel to West Haven, Connecticut to take on New Haven at 7:00 pm.
