Garden City, N.Y. - Junior John Albrecht (North Bellmore, N.Y.) and sophomore Mary Lepore (Manhasset, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of December 6, 2005.

Albrecht traveled to New Haven, Connecticut on Sunday, December 4 along with the track and field team to compete in the CTC Relay Carnival. At the meet Albrecht shattered his previous personal best in the shot put with a heave of 48-6.25 feet, which placed him second overall.

The Panthers will return to the track on January 13, 2006 when they travel to Kutztown, Pennsylvania to compete in the Kutztown Invitational.

Lepore posted averages of 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4.5 steals and two assists last week. Lepore's impressive state line helped Adelphi open up their conference schedule with a mark of 2-0.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, December 7 when they play host to Mercy College at 5:30 pm.
