Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University released the new face of the athletic program with the unveiling of the new Panther logo. Paying homage to the former logo, the new full body Panther is shown walking through the block AU mark.

This is the latest mark to be unveiled as part of Adelphi's year long rollout of its new athletic logos. In August, the first series of marks were released with the updated athletic font, colors and paw print. In October, the next five logos were released and included the Panther head as part of the official athletic seal. The wording around the outside of the seal states, "Twenty-one men's and women's teams compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics. Winning conference, regional and national honors."

The University has invested a great deal of time, effort and resources in releasing the new logos. The first of four full page ads to promote Panther Athletics and the accomplishments of our student-athletes is slated to appear in Newsday starting today and will feature the latest Panther mark.

The athletic logos, which were designed by Phoenix Design Works, embody the intelligence, humility, strength, success, tradition, and pride of Adelphi Panther Athletics. The final series of marks are slated to be released on January 24, 2008.
