Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University sophomores Andre Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Erin Grekin (Holtsville, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi University Athletes of The Week for the week of November 22, 2010.

Grekin picked a great spot to record her first career multi-goal game, when she tallied to goals against Umass-Lowell. No team in the country had scored more then once in a game against the Riverhawks, let alone one player. Grekin scored both her goals in the second half of their Northeast-10 semifinal, but it was not enough as Adelphi fell to the top-ranked Riverhawks, 4-2.

The Panthers closed out the 2010 season, which included several weeks ranked among the top-10 programs in the country, with a record of 13-9.

Coelho punched his ticket for a trip to the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships with a fourth place finish at the East Regional meet at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts. His covered the 10K course in 31:05 and his finish helped the men's team to a sixth place finish overall out of 26 teams.

Coelho will become the first member of the men's cross-country team to appear at the NCAA Division II National Championship meet in over 30 years when he toes the line on December 4, in Louisville, Kentucky.
