Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Seniors Alexander Kouznetsov (Vaxjo, Sweden) and Ashley Caiafa (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi University Athletes of The Week for the week of November 15, 2010.

Kouznetsov led the Panthers to the 2010 ASC Tournament title as he provided two of Adelphi's four goals during the playoffs. His first tally was the game winner in the Panthers, 2-0 defeat of NJIT in the semifinals and he followed that up with a header in the championship game that sent the contest into overtime.

For his efforts Kouznetsov was named Most Outstanding Player and MVP of the tournament, as Adelphi closed out 2010 with a record of 11-6-2.

In a 70-65 season opening win over Caldwell, Caiafa scored a career-high 29 points and shot 9-of-16 from the field. She also grabbed nine rebounds and went 8-of-10 from the free throw line.

Caiafa and the Panthers return to action on Saturday, November 20 when they host NE-10 rival Pace University at 1:30 p.m.
