Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Mike Marzano (Whitestone, N.Y.) and senior Katie DiPietro (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of October 26, 2004.

Marzano competed at NYCAC Championships, which were held at Van Cortlandt Park. Marzano crossed the line 12th overall to earn second-team All-Conference honors. He covered the eight kilometer (5 miles) course in a time of 28:40 to help the Panthers claim third place overall with a total of 96 points.

DiPietro helped the women's cross country team to a third place showing at the NYCAC Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park. DiPietro covered the five kilometer course (3.1 miles) in a time of 21:06 to place 9th overall and earn second-team All-Conference honors.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Sunday, November 7th when they travel to Boston Massachusetts to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional at Franklin Park.
