Garden City, N.Y. - Freshmen Rich Skoblicki (Patchogue, N.Y.) and Claudia Nunez (Aventura, FL) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of October 12, 2004.

Skoblicki kept the Panthers in both of their games last week, making sevens saves and allowing just one goal in each game. Skoblicki made five saves in Adelphi's 1-0 loss to Lehigh and stopped two break aways in the Panthers 1-0 loss to Howard.

Adelphi returns to action Saturday, October 16th when they play host to visiting Oneonta State in Atlantic Soccer Conference action.

Nunez won all five of her matches at the top flight singles position this past week to help the Panthers capture the third seed in the NYCAC Women's Tennis Team Championships. Nunez also won all of her doubles matches as well.

The Panthers return to action on October 13th when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Lady Rams in the first round of the NYCAC Women's Tennis Championships.
