Julia-Perez, Dispensa and Frysztacki Named Adelphi Athletes of The Week

Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Jaime Julia-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.), junior Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) and graduate student Claudette Frysztacki (Wantagh, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of October 9, 2006.

Julia-Perez and Dispensa produced top-ten finishes at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational, helping the men place third in the long course event. Julia-Perez covered the 8.1K course in 26:36, placing third overall, while Dispensa clocked in at 27:04 to place a collegiate best eighth overall.

For his efforts Julia-Perez was named ECC Runner of The Week.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, October 14 when they travel to Albany, New York to compete in the Albany Invitational.

Frysztacki recorded two second flight singles wins versus Molloy and New Haven last week. She also posted two wins in double play, pairing with Melissa Pashayan in first flight doubles against Molloy and second flight doubles against New Haven.

The two wins on the week, helped Adelphi secure the fourth seed in this week's ECC Team Championship Tournament and earned Frysztacki ECC Player of The Week honors.

Adelphi returns to action in the first round of the ECC Team Championship on Wednesday, October 11 against top seeded Concordia.
