Garden City, NY - Freshman Andrew Coelho (Wantagh, N.Y.) and senior Danielle Matteo (Valley Stream, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of October 5, 2009.

Coelho placed 42nd overall in the men's brown race at the Paul Short Run out of 332 finisher. His time of 25:58 helped the Panthers post a spread of nine seconds and capture second overall out of 38 competing teams.

Matteo was the just the third NCAA Division II finisher across the line in the women's gold race, which featured several Nationally ranked Division I teams, at the 6k Paul Short Run. Her time of 21:59 was a new personal best by over a minute and led the Panthers, as she placed 104th among the Division I field.

Cross Country returns to action in the Northeast-10 Championship on Sunday, October 25 in Colchester, VT.
