Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University junior Mauricio Mora (Long Island City, N.Y.) and senior Heather Mau (Honolulu, HI) have been named Adelphi Athletes of The Week for the week of September 27, 2010.

Mora picked an ideal time to score his first goal of the season in the Panthers' 1-0 victory over #25 Penn. He curled in a shot from 30 yards out with just 40 seconds left in the match to secure the win. He was named to the Princeton Invitational All-Tournament team.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, September 29 when they travel to Washington, DC for a 7:00 pm meeting with Big East conference member Georgetown University.

Mau totaled a team-high 78 digs in four games last week, all Panther wins. She averaged six digs per set on the week and also added five service aces and three kills. Her best effort of the week was a 27 dig performance in a 3-1 win over St. Rose and she also had a 18 dig effort in a 3-0 win over AIC.

Volleyball takes the court again on Friday, October 1 when they play host to Northeast-10 foe Saint Anselm at 7:00 pm.
