Sept. 28, 2004 Garden City, N.Y. - Freshman Mike Dorman (Albertson, N.Y.) and Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of September 28, 2004. Dorman traveled to Franklin Park in Boston over the weekend to compete in the MIT Harrier Classic with the cross country team. Dorman clocked a time of 31:41.2, taking over a minute off of his previous personal best. Dorman's time placed him 75th overall and helped the Panthers to an 11th place finish. The Panthers return to action on Saturday, October 2nd when they travel to Salisbury, Maryland to compete in the Tidewater Fall Classic. Addeo had an outstanding week from her setter position helping the Panthers to a 3-1 record on the week. In Adelphi's opened the week with a 3-0 win over Southern Ct. State on Tuesday, Addeo led the Panthers with 32 assists. Then Adelphi traveled to Bentley to compete in the Bentley Tournament. Addeo racked up 59 assists in Adelphi's opening match win against Merrimack. Her total of 59 was just two off of the single game record. In the Panthers game against host Bentley Addeo collected 56 assists. For her efforts Addeo was named to the All-Tournament Team. The Panthers return to action on September 28th when they travel to Oakdale, New York to take on conference foe Dowling at 7:00 pm. |
