Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Juniors Stuart Pulkinen (Toronto, CA) and Dorothy Connolly (Bethpage, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of September 20, 2010.

Pulkinen helped Adelphi to a fourth place finish at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship over the weekend by placing first overall. Pulkinen was sitting in seventh place after a day one round of 75 and stayed consistent on day two, shooting a round of 74 to creep into a tie for first and won the individual title in a playoff over David McGregor of Post University.

Golf returns to action on Friday, September 24 when they travel to Oakdale, New York to compete in the Dowling September Shootout.

In a 1-1 week, Connolly posted a total of 18 saves. In a 1-0 double overtime loss to AIC, she recorded a game-high 12 saves, and in a 3-1 win over UMass Lowell she set aside six shots. For her efforts Connolly was named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of The Week.

Connolly and the Panthers return to action today as they travel to Albany, New York to take on No. 1 ranked The College of St. Rose at 5:00 p.m.
