Garden City, NY - Junior Hilary Pavels (North Woodmere, N.Y.) and senior Alexander Kouznetsov (Vaxjo, Sweeden) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of September 14, 2009.

Pavels helped the Panthers to a 4-0 weekend at the East Stroudsburg tournament, posting 38 kills and 58 digs over the course of two days. She averaged 2.92 kills and 4.46 digs per game and also had eight assists, three service aces and two blocks.

Volleyball returns to the court Saturday, September 19 at Dowling College in Oakdale, N.Y. at 5 p.m.

Kouznetsov helped Adelphi to a 0-1-1 record at the Brown Soccer Classic over the weekend, netting a penalty kick goal in Adelphi's lighting shortened 1-1 tie against Yale on Friday, September 11.

The Men's Soccer team returns to Competition Field Friday, September 18 against VMI at 7 p.m.
