Will Marshall and Josephine Coiro Named Adelphi Athletes of The Week

Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Will Marshall (Laurelton, N.Y.) and senior Josephine Coiro (West Babylon, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the week for the week of September 14, 2004.

Marshall made his Panther debut in the Wagner Invitational and was the first Adelphi finisher across the line, clocking 30:17 to place 12th among Division II and III runners. Marshall's finish helped the Panthers to a 4th place showing at the meet.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, September 18th when they participate in the NYU Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

Coiro didn't just make her mark in Panther history this week - she did it in style. Netting both Adelphi goals to lead her team to a 2-0 victory over host Lock Haven University. In the process she became the school's all-time goal scoring leader with 61. For her efforts Coiro was named NYCAC Player of the Week.

The Panthers return to action on September 15th when they play host to visiting Mercy to open up their conference schedule. Kick-off is set for 4:00 pm on Stiles Field.
