Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Rob Philippou (Manhasset, N.Y.) and senior Brittany Addeo (Minden, NV) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of September 4, 2006.

Philippou found the back of the Manhattan net in the 31st minute of action on Sunday, September 3 to lift the Panthers to their first win of the season, 1-0. The goal was the 10th of Philippou's career.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, September 9th when they play host to Fairfield at 1:00 pm on Stiles Field.

Addeo totaled 130 assists in three matches at this past weekend's Adelphi September Showcase Tournament where she earned Most Valuable Player honors. Addeo averaged 11.8 assists per game in Adelphi's three victories. She also served extremely well averaging 0.82 service aces per game. Addeo averaged 0.64 kills per game with a .538 attack percentage.

On defense, she averaged 2.0 digs per game helping AU to it's first-ever 3-0 start. For her efforts Addeo was named ECC Player of The Week.

Volleyball returns to action on Friday, September 8 when they travel to Millersville Pennsylvania to compete in the Millersville Tournament.
