Adelphi University hosted its annual National Student-Athlete Day Awards Dinner on Friday, April 28, at the Alumni House. The Commerce Bank Championship was the title sponsor of the event.

"Tonight we come together to recognize and honor those student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics, while having made a significant contribution to their school and community," said Adelphi's Athletic Event Manager and Special Projects Coordinator, Deneé Rivera.

National Student-Athlete Day has been celebrated annually since 1987. It was created by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) and the Northeastern University Center for the Study of Sport in Society, with partnership from the NCAA and the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS). National Student Athlete Day is on of America's strongest endeavors to increase the positive virtues of sport and the recognition of student-athletes nationwide.
