Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Wes Green (Adelaide, Australia) and junior Lauren Lopez (Farmingville, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of May 2, 2006.

The Panthers went 1-2 during the week, with Green scoring 16 goals and adding four assists in the three games, including 10 goals against Pace on Wednesday. Green's career goals (reached with five against Post on Saturday) broke the Adelphi Division II career mark and he's one point away from 200 for his career. His 59 goals with one game left this season already are 22 more than his previous best of 37.

Men's Lacrosse returns to action on Saturday, May 6 when they close out the regular season at home against Dowling.

Lopez helped the Panthers to a 3-0 week, scoring a combined 13 goals and handing out four assists. In Adelphi's 20-7 win over Bentley Lopez led the Panthers with six goals and two assists.

On the season Lopez leads the team in goals (49), points (64) and ground balls (47).

Softball returns to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they host St. Thomas Aquinas at 3:00 pm on Janet L. Ficke Field.
