Adelphi University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsored its second annual National Student-Athlete Day Awards Dinner on Friday, April 15, 2005. Twenty-one of the best and brightest were recognized in the ceremony that took place at Alumni Hall.

National Student-Athlete Day has been celebrated since 1987 with the NCAA becoming involved in 1994. National Student-Athlete Day is on of America's strongest endevors to increase the positive virtures of sport and the recognition of student-athletes nationwide.

Student-athletes are most recognized for their athletic accomplishments on the court, field, pool or track. We highlight not only their athletic ability, but also their excellence in academic, community and volunteer services.
