Garden City, N.Y. - Juniors Mike Testani (Williston Park, N.Y.) and Julie Schaper (Warwick, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of April 16, 2007.

Testani was red-hot last week at the plate and in the field, helping the Panthers post a record of 4-0 on the week and move into sole possesion of first place in the East Coast Conference. Testani hit .625 with six RBI, including sending two over the wall. He also stole three bases and was perfect in centerfield, committing no errors.

Adelphi's returns to action on Wednesday, April 18 when they play host to Molloy College at 3:30 pm.

Schaper went 2-0 on the week, hurling two complete game (10 innings). She allowed just three hits and one run, while striking out 19, posting an ERA of 0.70. Schaper also threw a perfect game against Mercy, striking out 13 of 15 batters she faced.

For her efforts Schaper was named the ECC Pitcher of the Week.

Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, April 19 when they host New Haven in an ECC match-up at 3:30 pm.
