Garden City, N.Y. - Freshmen Mike Colonna (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Rachel Ray (Rocky Point, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of April 11, 2006.

Colonna made the most of his opportunities last week, going 3-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored and two stolen bases to help Adelphi to a perfect 3-0 week. He also made nine assists at shortstop with no errors. For his efforts, Colonna was named NYCAC Co-Rookie of The Week.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, April 12 when they travel to West Haven, Connecticut to wrap up the season series with New Haven.

Ray scored five goals and added two assists, helping the Panthers to a 2-0 week. She also collected 15 draw controls in Adelphi's two wins. In a 19-2 win over Molloy Ray scored two goals, handed out two assists and picked-up a game-high 13 draw controls.

Her biggest moment of the week came in Adelphi's match-up with #1 Stonehill College. Ray scored her third and final goal of the game with just 1:17 remaining to give the Panthers a 6-5 win over Stonehill, snapping the Skyhawks 36-game win streak. In that game Ray scored three goals and collected two draw controls.

Women's Lacrosse returns to action on Friday, April 14 when they travel to West Haven, CT for a 1:00 pm meeting with New Haven.
