Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University senior Mike Scudero (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and freshman Katie Andrews (Dothan, AL) have been named Adelphi University Athletes of The Week for the week of March 14, 2011.

Scudero picked up both of Adelphi's wins last week. In a 2-0 victory over Queens College, Scudero pitched 1.1 innings with two strikeouts. In a 5-1 defeat of #3 Franklin Pierce University, the senior left-hander threw a complete game with 13 strikeouts for the win. For his efforts Scudero was named Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher and NCBWA East Region Pitcher of the Week.

Scudero and the Panthers return to action tomorrow, March 15, when they take on Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida at 6:00 p.m.

Andrews kicked off her collegiate career with four appearances last week, including two starts, posting a record of 1-0. She has an ERA of just 0.76 after tossing 18.1 innings and earned her first victory courtesy of a seven inning shutout of Caldwell on March 13. For her efforts she was named Northeast-10 Rookie of The week.

The Panthers get back on the field on Tuesday, March 15 when they face off against Indianapolis and Tiffin in Kissimmee, Florida.
