Garden City, N.Y. - Juniors Bobby Lanigan (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Samantha Johnston (Port Jervis, NJ) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of March 24, 2008.

Lanigan went the distance in the first game of a doubleheader with Concordia on Saturday, March 22. Lanigan threw nine innings, allowing just one run on five hits and striking out 13 Concordia batters in a 2-1.

Baseball returns to action on Monday, March 24 when they host Concordia College at 3:30 pm on William J. Bonomo Memorial Field.

Johnston helped the Panthers to a two-game sweep of Southern Connecticut State on Saturday, March 22. She hit ,600 (6-10) with six RBI in the wins. In a 13-2 win, Johnston was 4-5 with five RBI and two runs, hitting one triple and two doubles. In the second game, a 7-5 win, Johnston was 1-5 with one RBI and one stolen base.

Softball returns to action on Tuesday, March 25 when they travel to West Haven, Connecticut for a doubleheader with New Haven.
