Garden City, N.Y. - Seniors Kimani Blaize (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jerri Lester (El Paso, TX) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of February 19, 2007.

Blaize led the Panthers to a 2-1 week, including wins over Queens and Dowling. On the week Blaize averaged 21 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. In Adelphi's win over Dowling Blaize became Adelphi's all-time leader in made three-point field goals.

The Panthers return to action on February 21 when they travel to Brookville, N.Y. for a 7:30 pm meeting with C.W. Post.

Lester took two fourth place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke at the MET Championships, she also palced eighth in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.61. Lester finished the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 59.98, hitting the B qualifying standard for ECAC's. She also achieved the B qualifier in the 200 backstroke with a 2:09.16 swim.

Swimming closed out their season at the MET Championships, placing eighth.
