Garden City, N.Y. - Sophomore Samuel Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Carlyshia Hurdle (Brentwood, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of February 15, 2005.

Jenkins averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and two steals to help the Panthers go 1-1 on the week. Jenkins had a break-out game against NYIT, pouring in a career-high 21 points on 6-11 shooting from the field and 6-8 shooting from the free throw line.

Adelphi returns to action on Thursday, February 17 when they take on Bridgeport at 7:30 pm in Woodruff Hall.

Hurdle helped the Panthers to a 1-1 record on the week by averaging a double-double, 17.5 points and 12 rebounds. Hurdle dropped in 21 points and grabbed 11 boards in a loss at Queens and then scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in a win at NYIT.

Adelphi returns to the court on Thursday February 17 when they host conference foe Bridgeport at 5:30 pm.
