Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University junior Corey McKee (Barrie, Canada) and senior Ashley Caiafa (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi Athletes of the Week for the week of February 7, 2011.

McKee paced the men at the Northeast-10 Championships, as he placed second overall in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 51.80, missing out on an NE-10 title by the slimmest of margins, 0.05. McKee also managed a third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, finishing in a time of 52.97. He managed to post NCAA "B" cuts in the prelims of both events with times of 51.15 in the 100 yard butterfly and 52.20 in the 100 yard backstroke.

Adelphi takes to the pool again on February 18 when they travel to Rutgers University to compete in the Metropolitan swim championships.

Caiafa, a physical education major, was named a Capital One Academic All-District Third-Team member last week thanks to a cumulative grade point average of 3.71. Caiafa is leading the Panthers in scoring (14.8 ppg), field goals made (99), three-point field goals made (39), and free throws made (59). She is also second on the team with 5.8 boards per contest.

Adelphi returns to action on Wednesday, February 2 when they travel to Pace University for a 5:30 pm meeting.
