Sean Corrigan and Mary Lepore Named Adelphi Athletes of The Week

Garden City, N.Y. - Graduate student Sean Corrigan (Hicksville, N.Y.) and sophomore Mary Lepore (Manhasset, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of The Week for the week of February 7, 2006.

Corrigan averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game last week to help the Panthers extend their current win streak to eight games. Corrigan was also an economical 9-13 from the field and hit 75 percent of his three-point attempts (3-4).

The Panthers will return to the court on Tuesday, February 7 when they travel to Bridgeport, Connecticut to take on the Purple Knights at 7:00 pm.

Lepore notched a pair of 23-point efforts, pacing Adelphi's 2-0 week. She grabbed a total of 24 rebounds and made 17 of 27 field goal attempts in the two contests. Lepore pitched with in 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game, and now ranks third in the league in scoring (16.8 ppg) and fifth in rebounding (7.9 rpg).

For her efforts she was named NYCAC Co-Player of The Week, sharing the honor with Bridgeport's senior center, Angelina Jimenez (Brentwood, N.Y.).

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, February 7 when they take on the Bridgeport Purple Knights in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
