Garden City, N.Y. - Seniors Mark Pollard (Deer Park, N.Y.) and Mary Lepore (Manhasset, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of January 28, 2008.

Pollard posted two individual top-20 finishes at the Great Dane Classic on January 25. In the 200 meter dash Pollard placed ninth out of 73 competitors with a personal best of 22.53 seconds. In the 400 meter dash Pollard posted a 50.42, placing 19th out of 62 competitors. He also anchored the men's 4x400 meter run to a 17th place finish in a time of 3:27.83.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 2 when they travel to Newark, Delaware to compete in the Thomson Invitational.

Lepore opened Adelphi's game against Molloy on January 26 with a trifecta to register her 1,000th career point. Lepore is the 18th player in school history to register 1,000 points. She would finish with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Adelphi returns to action on Saturday, February 2 when they travel to Bronxville, New York to take on Concordia.
