Garden City, N.Y. - Juniors Matt Dispensa (College Point, N.Y.) and Mary Lepore (Manhasset, N.Y.) have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of January 28, 2007.

Dispensa set two personal records in two races last weekend at the Boston University Terrier Invitational. Dispensa shattered his 5000 meter run personal best by 30 seconds, covering the distance in 15:34.86. He also anchored the distance medley relay to a season's best 10:37.99, clocking 4:33 for his mile.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, February 3 when they travel to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the DeSchriver Invitational.

Lepore averaged 13 points, nine rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.6 assists, helping Adelphi through a tough week with a 1-2 record. Lepore had her best game in a 63-56 victory over NYIT, scoring 18 points, pulling down 11 rebounds, handing out four assists and collecting three steals. She also played well in an overtime loss to Molloy, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine misses.

Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, February 6 when they play host to St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:30 pm.
