Garden City, N.Y. - Senior Matt Jordan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and sophomore Lindsay LaFluer have been named Adelphi's Athletes of the Week for the week of January 22, 2007.

Jordan helped the Panthers split two dual meets last week, collecting three individual first place finishes and swimming a leg of a first place relay. He picked up a win in the 50 yard freestyle and swam a leg of the winning 200 yard freestyle relay in a loss to Kings Point on January 18. Jordan followed that performance up with wins in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle in a win over Bryant on January 21.

The Panthers return to action on January 27 when they play host to St. Rose at 1:00 pm in Woodruff Hall.

LaFluer has lowered her personal best in the 3000 meter run twice in two weeks. On January 13 LaFluer placed 14th in the 3000 meter run at the Yale Invitational in a personal best 11:24.82 and a week later on January 20 chopped over 23 seconds off of that time when she placed ninth overall at the Sorlein Memorial Indoor Classic in 11:01.99.

Adelphi returns to action on Friday, January 26 when they compete in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University.
